Imran is encouraging people living in Bradford to be one step ahead with their finances by getting help from Citizens Advice.

Together with Citizens Advice, Imran is inviting local people to try out five tips to help them keep on top of their bills and save money. These five tips include building a budget, getting the best deal from bills, controlling credit, planning a pension and seeking advice from organisations such as Citizens Advice.

Imran also met people from across the charity’s network at an event in Parliament on Tuesday 2 February and heard about how local Citizens Advice branches are working with people across England and Wales to help them work out a budget, save money on bills and build confidence using online and mobile banking. Between April 2014 and March 2015, Citizens Advice helped 4581 people across Yorkshire and the Humber with money management skills.

Speaking on the initiative, Imran said:

“We can all benefit from being one step ahead with our finances and by developing people’s money management skills, we can help families and individuals keep on top of their bills and avoid unaffordable debt which grants them a greater sense of financial security.

“As the local MP for Bradford East, I work closely with Citizens Advice in Bradford on many issues, and I would encourage anyone who wants to improve their money management skills and develop their financial independence to contact Citizens Advice on George Street in Bradford.”
